2010 Ford Expedition

The peace of mind of the 2010 Ford Expedition.

You don't earn NHTSA's highest front crash test rating* for 10 years by standing still. The comprehensive airbag system** includes side-curtain protection for all three rows. Exclusive AdvanceTrac® with RSC® is the only stability system with two sensors to monitor both side-to-side motion and roll. In Expedition, safety is not an option.

*Star ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safercar.gov program (www.safercar.gov). **Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.

Five-Star Crash Test Ratings

Expedition gives you 5-star peace of mind. Expedition and the extended-length Expedition EL have received the highest 5-star rating* for both front and side crash tests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

*Star ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safercar.gov program (www.safercar.gov).

AdvanceTrac®

AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control? (RSC®) helps you stay in control*. Standard AdvanceTrac automatically applies the brakes and adjusts engine torque whenever it detects wheelslip, and helps to avoid skidding and fishtailing by controlling understeer and oversteer. It also helps maintain more control in road conditions such as ice, gravel or rain.

Airbag Protection

We've got you covered. Expedition features standard front seat airbags,* side-impact airbags, plus the Safety Canopy® System with its large side curtain airbags that enhance protection for outboard occupants in all three rows.

SYNC®

Available SYNC* with traffic, directions and information is a voice-activated technology powered by Microsoft®. It now does more than voice-activate your MP3 player and cell phone. It provides real-time traffic conditions, turn-by-turn directions and other information using simple voice commands.* It also monitors your vehicle's health via a Vehicle Health Report and provides occupants the peace of mind of 911 Assist?

Navigation System

The voice-activated Navigation System with integrated SIRIUS Travel Link?* gives you everything from turn-by-turn voice guidance to real-time traffic information, current and forecasted national weather information, fuel prices, sports scores and schedules, and movie listings. On top of all that it has a 10GB hard drive so you can store up to 2,400 songs. Browse your music with your fingertips or use voice activation to play back a track. Expedition Eddie Bauer requires Eddie Bauer Convenience Package; available on Limited and King Ranch with Luxury Value Package.

Rain-Sensing Wipers

These windshield wipers make Expedition more convenient. Rain-sensing wipers can detect rain, snow or road spray hitting your windshield, and automatically run at just the right speed. You don't have to take your hands off the wheel or other controls to adjust your wipers as weather conditions change. The system does this for you. And you can set its sensitivity to suit your needs. It's available on Eddie Bauer® with the available Eddie Bauer® Convenience Package and is standard equipment on Expedition Limited and King Ranch®.

Reverse Sensing System

The available Reverse Sensing System uses radar-based sensors in the rear bumper to audibly alert you to certain objects behind the vehicle when you're backing up at slow speeds. The closer you get, the quicker it beeps. Available on Expedition XLT in the optional XLT Convenience Package, and is standard equipment on Expedition Eddie Bauer®, Limited and King Ranch®.

MyKey? System

Help make driving safer for your young drivers. The standard programmable MyKey? System provides a number of options to help you make driving safer for young drivers. Standard settings - These settings cannot be changed: ? Belt-Minder cannot be disabled and will not expire (the stereo also gets muted until everyone buckles up) ? The audio system will be muted whenever Belt-Minder is activated ? Low-fuel warnings are displayed in the message center followed by a chime when the Distance-to-Empty value reaches 75 miles ? If equipped, the Parking Aid, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS?) with Cross Traffic Alert and Forward Collision Warning cannot be turned off. Optional settings - These settings can be changed: ? Vehicle speed is limited to 80 mph. Visual warnings and chimes are displayed: ? At vehicle start to make to inform the driver that the vehicle speed is limited to 80 mph ? At 75 mph to warn the driver that the vehicle speed is near the top speed ? At 80 mph to warn the driver that the vehicle has reached the top speed ? The driver is encouraged to check their speed and drive safely via visual warnings and chimes when a pre-selected vehicle speed of 45, 55 or 65 mph is exceeded ? The maximum volume of the audio system is limited to 45 percent ? The AdvanceTrac® System cannot be turned off. When this optional setting is on, the MyKey? user will not be able to deactivate the system. This prevents the driver from burning the tires, performing doughnuts, etc.

Rear View Camera

The available Rear View Camera can help you see what's behind your vehicle and aid you when hooking up a trailer. It provides a video image of the area behind your vehicle on the interior rearview mirror (or available navigation screen if the vehicle is equipped with the available Navigation System). Activated automatically when you shift Expedition into Reverse, the Rear View Camera can alert you to certain objects behind your vehicle. Using the red, green and yellow guidelines on the display, you can align your vehicle with a trailer hitch behind your vehicle. The Rear View Camera is available on Expedition Eddie Bauer® in the optional Eddie Bauer® Convenience Package and standard on Limited and King Ranch®.

PowerFold® Third-Row Seat

At the touch of a button, the available PowerFold? third-row seat can fold flat for additional cargo room. Simply push a button for a flat load floor. When in the upright position, it comfortably seats three passengers. It's optional in Expedition XLT and standard in Eddie Bauer®, Limited, and King Ranch® models.

Seating Comfort

The Expedition XLT model features comfortable standard seating for five. If you need room for more, you can add the optional three-passenger third-row bench (manual or available PowerFold?) and get seating for eight. If your taste is for premium accommodations, you'll find everything you're looking for in an eight- or available seven-passenger Expedition Eddie Bauer®, Limited or the premium King Ranch® model. All three come with a host of amenities including leather-trimmed first- and second-row seats and PowerFold? third-row seat.

Second-Row CenterSlide? Seat

The 40/20/40 split bench second-row seat, standard in all Expedition models, features CenterSlide?. It allows the center 20 section to slide forward nearly 11 inches to make it easier to access a small child from the front seats.

Heated and Cooled Seats

Expedition Limited and King Ranch® models feature standard heated and cooled first-row seats with three comfort settings and heated second-row seats with two comfort settings. Heated and cooled front seats with three comfort settings are optional in Expedition Eddie Bauer®.

V8 Power

The 5.4L V8 is engineered to put the torque where it's needed most - delivering 85 percent of peak torque at just 1500 rpm. That's important for pulling a big load from a dead stop. Multi-valve technology (three valves per cylinder) allows the engine to breathe freely, increasing horsepower. The 5.4L engine generates 310 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft of torque. All that power is transmitted to the drive wheels by way of a six-speed automatic transmission. Its wide six-gear spread helps the engine generate lots of low-end torque (for tasks such as towing) and provide efficient operation in sixth gear overdrive on the highway. This engine is also flex-fuel capable, able to accommodate E85, gasoline or any mix of the two.

Big Towing Capacity

If you need to tow a large boat or camper-trailer, Expedition is the full-size SUV you want. The 5.4L V8's 310 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft. of torque give the Expedition 4x2 regular-length model a maximum 9,200-lb. towing capacity when properly equipped with the available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. (The Expedition EL has a maximum towing capacity of 8,900 pounds.)

Independent Rear Suspension

Expedition delivers an exceptionally smooth and comfortable ride. That's due in large part to the Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) that allows each wheel to respond independently to rough or uneven surfaces for a smooth and controlled ride.

ControlTrac® Four-Wheel-Drive System

Whether the road is filled with snow, ice or gravel, the ControlTrac® 4x4 System on the Expedition 4x4 helps provide sure-footed traction. It does so by dividing engine torque front-to-rear. The system operates in four modes: ? 2H (2WD): Power is delivered to rear wheels only. For normal on-road, dry pavement driving. ? 4A (AUTO): In this mode, electronic control four-wheel drive power is delivered to all four wheels, as required, for increased traction. For all on-road conditions, including dry road surfaces, wet pavement, snow or gravel. ? 4H (HIGH): This setting provides electronically locked four-wheel drive to front and rear wheels. Intended only for severe winter or off-road conditions, such as deep snow, ice or shallow sand. DO NOT use on dry pavement. ? 4L (LOW): When extra power at reduced speeds is required, this electronically locked four-wheel drive mode should be used. Used for off-road, low-speed operation or when extra power is required in situations such as climbing steep grades, going through deep sand or pulling a boat out of water. DO NOT use on dry pavement.

Extended-Length Model

You need more room? You need the Expedition EL. The Expedition EL (Extended Length) provides all the versatility of the regular-length Expedition, plus 24 additional cu. ft. of cargo volume behind the third-row seat.* The EL can pack it all in so you can take more with you on your family adventures.

Full-Size Cargo Space

The beauty of Expedition is its versatility. With the second- and third-row seats folded down, Expedition EL provides up to 130.8 cu. ft. of storage space. Behind the third row, there's an additional 42.6 cu. ft. of room. The standard-length Expedition model provides up to 108.3 cu. ft. when both the second- and third-row seat backs are lowered, and18.6 cu. ft. behind the third-row seat. If you need more room, there's a standard roof rack with crossbars to help you carry more.*

Trailer Sway Control

Trailer sway control is standard on Expedition. Trailer sway control works in conjunction with AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control? (RSC®) to determine from the yaw motion of the vehicle if the trailer is swaying and take measures - such as applying precise braking or reduced engine torque - to help bring both vehicle and trailer under control.*
