MGM Ford Lincoln delivers any kind of service and repair. We'll keep your Ford running smoothly and on the road longer. All service appointments come with an 83-point inspection that looks at every part of your vehicle. Our inspection checks the following.

Interior & exterior inspection

Exterior: we'll look for anything that's not working or damaged, such as body panels, head and tail lamps, windows, trunk, and hood.
Interior: all interior components are inspected, including seat controls, steering wheel, audio/video functions, and more.

Tire & brake wear

Correct tire pressure keeps you save and delivers the best kilometers per litre. We measure the tire pressure and add air if needed. Then we examine the overall quality and measurement of wear and tear on all tires and all brake systems.

Oil & fluids

We look at fluid levels and top up if required.  We will also change the oil and filter if needed.

Systems & engine components

Our mechanics examine the critical systems and components, including lights, air filter, belts, hoses, exhaust system, and more to detect possible problems.

Battery

We'll test the vehicle battery operation and the condition of its charging system.

Vehicle report card

When the inspection is complete, we'll take you through the inspection's Red/Yellow/Green rating system, so you know the condition of your vehicle. The report will show what's running smoothly, anything requiring immediate attention, and what may need servicing or replacing in the future.

FAQ

What are the service intervals for Ford?

Be sure to stick to service intervals for a long vehicle life and a strong engine. If your Ford is 2008 or newer then your service interval is every 8,000 km. For Fords 2007 and older, the service interval is every 5,000 km. Your vehicle will come with a Ford owner’s manual where you can see the actual maintenance schedule. It will also outline which services need to be completed at each interval.

Does Ford offer free maintenance?

No, Ford Canada doesn't offer free maintenance with new Ford vehicles. However, every car has a good warranty. You can add additional protection through one of the seven extended service plans for new owners. The plans offer choices around the number of components covered, with coverage for some high-tech parts, including some safety components and cruise control.

In addition, two maintenance plans are available. They can be customized according to on time, distance, and service frequency for non-battery electric vehicles.

How often does Ford recommend oil changes?

Change your engine oil every 8,000 to 16,000 km. This range will depend on your Ford's model and year, driving habits, and driving conditions and may increase your oil change frequency. Habits and conditions can include:

  • Towing
  • Short-distance driving
  • Driving in extreme temperatures.

It’s important to check your owner’s manual for the most accurate oil change service interval or speak to the team at MGM Ford Lincoln.

Is a Ford expensive to maintain?

No, Fords are not expensive to maintain, and replacement parts are not expensive compared to other makes. Maintenance costs will vary depending on the Ford model you own. For example, an F-150 with 4x4 will be more expensive to maintain than an Escape or an Ecosport.

What does service engine soon mean on my Ford vehicle cluster?

When you see this indicator, it means that more than a routine service is required. If this indicator is on, please schedule an appointment with either the MGM Ford Lincoln team or your closest Ford-certified service provider right away.

Your car will be inspected by a factory-trained technician who will perform diagnostic tests, if required. They will determine what’s triggering the light and get your vehicle repaired as quickly as possible.

Do service plans really save money?

Yes, because unexpected maintenance can negatively impact your budget. With an extended service plan, you don't have to worry about something going wrong and not being able to pay for it. All plans are backed by Ford Canada. You can even finance these plans over a period of time.

In addition, extended service plans come with Roadside Assistance. If you need towing, a tire change, or assistance with being locked out you’re also covered - 24/7! This will further reduce out-of-pocket costs if anything happens to your car.

Does missing a service void my warranty?

Possibly. The key issue here is that if parts fail due to a lack of maintenance, then a situation like that could lead to a warranty being voided. You need to keep up with the maintenance schedule and insist that Ford-approved parts are used.

Which is better, a service or maintenance plan?

To decide which one is better for you, consider what is included and covered with each option and what you think you will need. Extended service plans cover more parts and labour, along with major components of your vehicle.

Maintenance plans cover the costs of maintaining a vehicle, such as oil changes, spark plugs, etc. You can get Ford maintenance and service plans through Ford Protect. Here are some of benefits:

  • Pay today's prices, and don't pay future price increases on parts and labour
  • Finance the cost of a plan over a months
  • All plans use genuine Ford parts
  • Technicians trained by Ford Canada perform all services
  • Plans can increase the resale value of your vehicle.
